Testing Phase Now Complete
Thank you to everyone who took the time to review my work and provide feedback via blog posts, emails, texts and phone calls. I appreciate your input and am adjusting the lesson plans and website accordingly.
Though the testing phase is now complete, please continue to use the resources found in this collection to improve digital literacy skills in your classroom. If you feel the resource is a valuable one, please share it with other teachers, administrators or parents who might be able to make use of it as well.
All of the suggestions for improvement received have now been incorporated into the site. I will endeavour to continue to update the site as further suggestions are made.

***Testing and Feedback Phase - August 8-20, 2014***
Thank you for taking the time to explore this website. The project contained within is meant to be a collection of lesson plans and resources tied directly to the Digital Literacy Framework developed by the BC Ministry of Education. It will also be the basis of a process paper that will complete my submission for a Master's of Education degree through Vancouver Island University.
I truly appreciate your assistance in helping me to reach my goal.
I do not claim ownership of the resources that are linked within these lesson plans. All credit for the resources lie with their creators. This is simply a collection of activities, ideas, lesson plans and links to help guide educators in effectively and safely implementing technology use in their classrooms. The lesson plans have been developed by me, however, my hope is that you will copy what you think might work for you, share them with other educators, use them, test them, add to them if you can and make them your own. These are only ideas or outlines of lessons that have worked in my own classroom and all are certainly modifiable to meet your own specific needs.
What I would like is some feedback. Please take some time to look at this website, the lesson plans contained within it and the additional resources provided and give me some feedback on my work detailing what you think is good, what doesn't work so well and what falls somewhere in between the two. I'm looking specifically for ways to improve the lessons or additional links or resources that can be added to them, but general feedback about the layout and design of the website, the project itself or alternative points of view are also welcome. Each tab has its own blog page where you can leave a comment for that topic.
There are a total of 140 outcomes listed in the Digital Literacy Framework. I have chosen ones that reflect my teaching contract and interests (grade 5/6 and digital citizenship) for the most part. That means that the 60 lesson plans covering 51 different outcomes that I have included here (not quite half but a little over a third!) are heavily weighted to meet my classroom needs and primary and middle/high school outcomes have less representation, though a few have been completed for each age group. I have also tried to provide at least one lesson plan for each topic in the framework. In order to meet the needs and timeline of this project I had to limit the scope of my work, thus I identified outcomes that I felt were most relevant to my needs and interests. There is definitely room for further development and, given the time and energy once my process paper is complete, I will do my best to maintain and update this site as often as I can.
I have requested feedback during the period of August 8-20, 2014 in order to give me time to review and incorporate all of the feedback that I receive prior to publishing Chapter 4 of my process paper. Any and all help is greatly appreciated!
When my research and process paper are complete, they will all be available on this website (again, under 'The Project' tab) and a presentation of how to use the site and it's lesson plans will be included (hopefully by September, 2014).
Again, thank you for spending some time exploring this site and providing me with your feedback - I look forward to your responses and ideas for improvement.
